Straighten Up America


In the past 3 years of school I have learned a great deal about a program called Straighten Up America. The goal of this program is to promote spinal health, well-being and positive self-esteem. If you go to the website www.StraightenUpAmerica.com you will find different exercises and programs to improve your overall spinal health. Below is an exercise you can do today to begin your journey to a life of optimal spinal health. 

Stretch Exercise

1) From the standing neutral position with tummy tucked in and chest up, spread your arms and legs..

2) Facing forward, place one hand in the air with the other at your side. 

3) Breathe in as you slowly stretch one arm overhead, while slowly bending your entire spine to the opposite side and sliding the other hand down your thigh. 

4) Relax at the end of the stretch, breathing out and in again. Perform slowly twice to each side. Easy does it.
