Abnormal Soft Tissue Function

We are now in week 4 discussing the 5 components that happen when you have a spinal misaligned spine. Lets recap the first 3 issues: 1) Abnormal motion in the spine 2) Abnormal functioning nervous system 3) Abnormal muscle function.

If you have not read the previous posts then please look them up from the past 3 Fridays.

Today we are going to talk about the 4th component to a misaligned spine which is the soft tissue does not function properly. When I talk about soft tissue I am referring to the discs, ligaments, tendons, and other tissues in the body. When the spine moves out of its proper juxtaposition it opens up the spinal joint leading to inflammation and a rise in temperature around the vertebra.

If you lay out in the sun for 5 hours and do not wear any sunscreen then 10 out of 10 times you will sunburn. If your shoulders become sunburned then the soft tissue (muscles, tendons, and ligaments) become inflamed and increase in temperature. This relates to a misaligned spine because a stress is put on the body and starts the inflammatory process. Fortunately for a sunburn the inflammation will go away over time. Unfortunately for a spinal misalignment the problem will not go away on its own. You must visit a chiropractor to thoroughly analyze your spine and determine where the spinal misalignments are. Then through a gentle and specific adjustment he will correct the problem.
